Introduction to Environmental Permitting Regulations This 3 day course is designed for staff new to Environmental Permitting Regulations or as a "refresher" for those returning to the EP Regulations. It will cover all the main areas of the legislation such as inspection and permit drafting skills. As an introduction, the course will focus on the Part B installations.

Day 1
1.Introduction to the Course and Origins of LA PPC
2.Air Pollutants from Industrial Emissions and EnvironmentalStandards.
3.Emission control methods for typical Part B Industrial Emissions and their inspection.
4.Introduction to Monitoring and Measurement systems.
Day 2
1.Guide to installations and ancillary activities.
2.The EP Regulations design, content and transitionalarrangements.
3.Permit Drafting- including SED requirements.
4.Permit Drafting- conditions.
Day 3
1.Introduction to Variations under EPR.
2.Variation Notices for upgrading, 6-year revisions and major processes changes.
3.Enforcement Notices: when and how to use them.
4.Dealing with odours and discharges using D1, some basic guidelines.
5.Permit Administration, Fees and Charges Scheme, and Risk Assessments
6.EPR Problems and Issues query session.
The Introduction course can be taken on its own or as the first module of the "Accreditation Certificate in IPPC".
NOTE: Exemptions to this module of the certificate are in place for those who have a minimum of 2 years continuous and current work experience in EP/PPC, and are
therefore are not required to take this component in order to gain the certificate. Please contact us to discuss your eligibility for this exemption.
